Overview

As part of the Probleemoplossen en Ontwerpen (PnO) curriculum at KU Leuven, I helped design and build an Automated Transportation System.

The goal was a physical delivery cart that could navigate a space using its sensors and wireless control.

Technical Elements

  • Microcontroller: The brains of the operation ran on an Arduino, talking directly to distance sensors and motor drivers to move the cart safely.
  • Task automation: Rather than being a dumb remote-control car, the system received delivery task coordinates and executed them asynchronously.
  • Mobile integration: To control and monitor the cart, we built a companion mobile app with MIT App Inventor that talked to the hardware over Bluetooth/Wi-Fi.

This project taught me a lot about working in a bigger team and dealing with hardware limitations.
