Overview

BurgieClan is a file-sharing and resource platform built for engineering students at KU Leuven, maintained by VTK Leuven IT.

It gives students one central, secure place to upload, share and review course material, summaries and exam aids.

Technical Foundation

Back end: The platform is built on PHP with the Symfony framework, which gives it a modular structure, predictable routing and clean database access through the Doctrine ORM on top of a MySQL database.
Front end: For a fast, reactive interface with type safety, the front end was overhauled with TypeScript and JavaScript.

The platform serves hundreds of students every week.
